Pastor Dennis L. Douglas
Pastor Dennis L. Douglas was born the third eldest of five children on July 26, 1956, to the late James and Kathelen Douglas. Pastor Douglas attended the public schools in Kansas City, Kansas and is a graduate of Sumner Senior High School.
After graduating from Sumner Senior High School in 1974, Pastor Douglas attended DeVry Institute of Technology, taking courses towards a BS in Electronics Engineering. He also attended Control Data Institute of Technology in Los Angeles, California, where he received certification in Computer Programming and Operations.
As a child he attended Bethel Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Elder Israel Ervin. In 1987, Pastor Douglas joined the Mt. Carmel Church of God in Christ family under the leadership of Superintendent Ervin Sims, Jr. He accepted his call to ministry in 1996 and was ordained as an elder in 2002 under the late Bishop William H. McDonald.
Over the course of 24 years, Pastor Douglas served faithfully in several capacities at Mt. Carmel Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Ervin Sims, Jr. He served on the Usher Board and as a Sunday School teacher. In addition, he served as the General Sunday School Superintendent for seven years and as President of the Ministers’ Alliance.
While being active in ministry and working full-time in Corporate America, Pastor Douglas attended Park University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Management and Computer Information Systems. In 2010, Pastor Douglas was accepted into St. Luke’s Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program, where he successfully completed and received his CPE certification. In 2018, he successfully completed all curriculum requirements from Christian Leadership University, and received a Masters Degree of Divinity (Mdiv), with emphasis in Christian Counseling.
With the leading of the Lord and his wife, First Lady Alfredia C. Douglas, by his side, Pastor Douglas preached his first official service as pastor of Resurrection Life on April 10, 2011.
In 2014, Pastor Dennis and First Lady Alfredia Douglas, along with the 100% support of the RLFWC family, officially began serving under the leadership of Bishop John M. Johnson, Prelate of Missouri Western Second Jurisdiction. In 2018, Pastor Douglas was appointed Jurisdictional Secretary of the Missouri Western Second Jurisdiction. In addition, he accepted the opportunity to serve as the Chairman of the Pastor and Elders council.
Pastor Dennis and First Lady Alfredia Douglas have been married for 35 years. They are the proud parents of 4 children (Latrice, Shelisha, Devin, and Denae) and 3 grandchildren.
